Black Wall Street Reimagined

Village Family,

This weekend we showed up strong at Black Wall Street Reimagined at the Nyumburu Cultural Center.

The conversation was powerful and aligned directly with the work we have been doing through our Bring Back the Village series.

The lesson focused on how thriving Black economic communities once operated and what it takes to rebuild that kind of collective strength today.

We talked about:

• The importance of financial discipline

Village Family,

Showing up for our community is not optional. It is intentional. It is purposeful. It is who we are.

This Saturday at 10 a.m., I will be speaking at Black Wall Street Reimagined, and I would love for our village to be in the room.

This event is about ownership, economic power, unity, and rebuilding what we once had in thriving Black communities. We will celebrate Umoja and Ujima, support Black businesses, connect with entrepreneurs, and have real conversations about building collective wealth.

Join us at The University of MD Nyumburu Cultural Center 4018 Campus Drive.

If you are committed to strengthening our village economically, meet me there.

Today we honor the life, legacy, and leadership of Jesse Jackson.

A freedom fighter.

A coalition builder.

A bridge between movements.

Jesse Jackson reminded us that civil rights is not just about protest, it is about policy. It is not just about speeches, it is about systems. It is not just about visibility, it is about access, opportunity, and economic empowerment.

Through the Rainbow PUSH Coalition and decades of organizing, he challenged America to confront inequality in education, voting rights, employment, and economic justice. He ran for President not just to win, but to widen the door for what was politically possible for Black leadership in this country.
